Background

A tribute to the brave and courageous women in the 1940s during world War II, this editorial shows a modern view of women taking the role of leaders during the conflict of war. This powerful story reflects todays' heated intercontinental conversations of war preparations in the news. The garments with a military theme for styling are strong and edgy yet feminine evokes the alluring confidence in women.

Location and set

War rooms set with retro objects (lamps, clocks, telephones), maps with photos pinned on wall, pen paper etc. As much props as possible. Will be shooting in wider angle in some scenes to capture the whole mood of the room

Lighting and post production

Cinematic and dramatic lighting with contrasting light and shadow. Overall the scene is dim, and key lights are focused on models and on some scenes of interest. Use haze to create an atmospheric effect. Can use gel lights to add some contrasting colours.

Compositions / story

I want the images to be cinematic and tell the story as it occurs just like in the real documentary photos but perhaps dramatised, and positioned to get the best out of the garments. It's a cross between documentary and an ad campaign. An idea is to superimpose one image to another in one scene, so the same models will fill the room, in different outfits, to make an illusion of a busy room. (this doesn't need to be in every shot).

Scenes for example, the officers (models) could be :

- talking to each other over a classified document / map

- listening intensely on the phone

- pinning something on a map

- looking at a projection presentation

- giving a war briefing
