Hastings is an old fishing village and there are some really great locations to do shoots. Having walked around hastings and exploring a bit, the harbour have given me inspirations for a vintage styled fashion shoot.

I love the elegence of vintage fashion. The big hats, and dark eye make up, the red lips. There is just something so graceful about the clothing. I want the shoot to include the old fishing boats, to give a sense of the towns history. The boats give amazing textures for backdrops. There are also different colours great for matching clothes. At the same time, I want the shoot to give a sense of mystery, something that make viewers wanting more. A picture that makes the eye move.

Model: To create a sense of mystery, I think a model with dark hair is preferable to give that mysterious feel. If the model understand vintage poses that would be great. I would say strong cheek and lips features is great for close up shots with the hat covering the face partially.

Style: Vintage vintage vintage. Hats is a great assessory for the look. The more extravagant the better. I love vintage hats. Clothing wise, since it is winter, I think something semi wintery would be good. So it is more comfortable for the model aswell in the weather. Fur is nice (tho some magazines dont like them). Colour wise, it can be matched with the boats. There is a boat called "our Lady" which is beige coloured with wooden panels, which would be great to shoot infront of. So black, cream coloured clothing would be good. Scarfs and gloves are good assessories too.

Makeup: Dark makeup. mysterious. red lips. slight pink cheeks for the mystery and elegent feel. Probably not too glossy. No glitter.

Props: umbrella (also incase it rains!), flowers. ribbons?

Other stuff: a hot cuppa tea! warm blankets, more umbrellas!

Feel free to comment, add inspiration if you like! :)
